Life-sized cyanotype on a queen bed sheet. It wasn't intended to look like figures in a womb, but I went with it.

Don't forget to check out the rest of my gallery!
And the gelatin silver prints for sale on my Etsy. More cyanotypes over gelatin silver prints are coming very soon!

This is very poetic and mysterious. Your image inspires me. There is something like... mystical? I imagine stories when I see it. I find they looks like two sisters with their souls connected. Very dark and lightful at the same time.

I'm working on more larger scale cyanotypes but recently I've been combining cyanotypes with gelatin silver prints. The cyanotype chemistry eats away at the silver hallides on the photo, it produces a very eerie abstract effect.
Thanks :D

this reminds me of some legend or myth (i can't remember where i herd or read it from right now) but its of
an androgynous creature, with two faces, four legs, and four arms, and both reproductive organs. The gods grew jelous of this creature because it was able to travel faster and longer with four legs. It was fare more productive and capable of doing more tasks. it could reproduce offspring at will, and as often as it pleased, and with two faces it could never be taken by surprise.
note; the story I'm firmiliar with described them sharing one brain and all thoughts, attached along the spine. so it not only never spoke, it never quarrelled (really when i arguer with myself it becomes a pointless internal conflict that ends with me following instinct, so i can't see it being any different if i had a second me on my back).
anyhow;
the gods split the creature in two. confused and alone, each half searching the world for their other half.
might even be the same creature Plato refers to in his ''soul mates'' theory. i just thought that the story was beautifully horrific.

Not that I'm saying your work is horrific!
if anything its graceful and erie. Spectacular in whole.

Well it would make about 6 t-shirts :P But I know what you mean. I'd love to start doing stuff like that with my work, maybe someday.

Well, if you used the deguerrotype method, maybe - but take the image, invert it in PS, make the background transparent & get it screenprinted! That'd be reaaaally easy, and FRIGGIN AWESOME.

I know how to screenprint, I'd just freehand it with white ink. Anyway, I'd want the white image to be big and on the front and back, I'd have to get a commission or something for them. Basically I'd have to have them sold before making them because that would be a TON of work and money. But yeah, it's a fantastic idea and I'll be able to do it more easily soon enough.

That's true, it would be a ton of money to do it yourself... That's way cool that you know how though! I don't know how to screenprint... kinda jealous. Think it'd be just as much to maybe... farm it out? Find a screenprinter who might charge per shirt?

Anyways, if you do ever make shirts - post a pic of the shirt! I'd totally be in to buy one. :)

how did you do that?

There's special chemistry that's sensitive to sunlight. You paint it on to the fabric (or paper) in very dim light. It's lime green at that point. You keep it out of the light until it's dry then you lay it out in the bright sunlight and put yourself or whatever else on top of it quickly. The green that's exposed to the sunlight turns cyan blue, what is blocked by the light (in this case blocked by our bodies) washes out and turns white/light light blue. After it's done exposing (we had to lay there still for 25 minutes) you wash it off under cold running water which is what makes it turn white and blue. Before that its all solid green.

Wow. I would try that if I wasn't the kind of person that:
a) has no patience
b) would get the paint stuck in her hair
c) would eventually get so bored I would just pick up the paint with my fingers and use it to paint Indian war paint on my face...

It's not paint, its chemistry. It's a lot thinner. Like green water but it smells.
And you can cyanotype on skin, its not permanent though :D
